SquarePet® VFS Skin & Digestive Support formula has been designed by SquarePet’s team of veterinary professionals to support food sensitivities/ingredient intolerances. VFS Skin & Digestive Support formula for dogs is a unique, limited ingredient, hydrolyzed protein dog food. Similar to proteins used in some infant formulas, hydrolyzed proteins are proteins that have been broken down into smaller components. The result is an exceptionally digestible protein source that can be beneficial for dogs that may be sensitive to common pet food ingredients.

Veterinarians are witness to the ill effects that poor nutrition can have on our beloved pets — from the inside and out. This has led me to take my experiences as a practicing veterinarian to develop pet foods that first do no harm, and then attempt to maximize the nutritional benefits from high quality ingredients and formula combinations. As an owner and co-founder of SquarePet™ I am committed to our sole mission to create nutrition products to provide a healthier, longer, and happier life full of playing and companionship for all of our beloved pets.
This is very good dog food and the ingredients are great. However it did not agree with my dog who has many food intolerances and resulting GI problems. I tried transitioning very slowly over two weeks but something was making him itchy and he would scratch until he was red raw. He started with loose stools again, so I had to stop.

Giving my do lots of gas and yellow stools, but tastes good
Trying to transition my dog from an Rx hydrolized diet for IBD that my standard poodle doesn't like. He eats this, but it is giving him soft yellow stools and gas. He was transitioned properly by starting with adding a little at a time to the Rx formula.
I will have to repurchase the Rx and combine it with this to see if there is improvement. The Rx uses hydrolized chicken protein vs. pork which this formula uses.
